Arrhythmia



The arrhythmia or heart rhythm disorder is a cardiac disease characterized by irregular contractions of the heart. The arrhythmia may be ventricular or supraventricular (above the ventricles).

The heart rhythm does not have always the same frequency, by activity or emotion of the moment. At different frequencies, a healthy heart maintains a steady beat. But if the heartbeat is abnormally low or high or irregular compared with the activity of the moment, it is abnormal.

A heart rhythm disorder may be assymptômatique it is usually discovered during a visit to the doctor. It can cause palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue.

A high cholesterol in the blood, smoking, physical inactivity promote the development of heart disease. Stress or disease (diabetes) are often responsible for heart disease.

Should consult a doctor if pain is felt in the chest that may spread to the arm or when the heartbeat is irregular.
