Asthma is a disease of the airways, particularly addressing the bronchi. Inflammation can be acute (stroke) or chronic.
There are many causes of asthma. The disease may be caused by a virus. It can be caused by exposure to strong odors or cigarette smoke and pollution. Some medications can cause an asthma attack. It may also be an allergy caused by pollen, mites or molds.
During an asthma attack, bronchial inflammation narrows the airways and the air flows more easily. The crisis may occur on contact with an allergen product or several days or even years later.
The symptoms are mainly cough, abnormal shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
Drugs are able to relieve symptoms. However care must be taken to find the cause and avoid the allergen product. Avoid carpets and animals could be the solution. For asthma at the work place, wearing a mask may be necessary. A more adequate ventilation can make a difference.
