Dysphasia

Dysphasia is a language disorder affecting speech and writing in children. The affected child may have difficulty speaking (expressive dysphasia), understand (dysphasia reception) or both.

The child with dysphagia may also feel some motor problems, orientation, visual or auditory perception. For example, a child may not recognize the sound of water or a passing plane.

This damage is difficult to diagnose before the age of five years.

Dysphasia is caused by a brain dysfunction that prevents normal communication. It suggests that brain dysfunction can result from genetic factors, neurobiological or other nervous system abnormalities.

Dysphasia, acquired at birth, persists throughout life.

Do not confuse the words dysphasia and dysphagia. Dysphagia is a symptom that indicates a problem with the esophagus ; it is the sensation of blockage of food during swallowing.
