Herniated disc



A herniated disc is a crack with an intervertebral disc. The intervertebral discs are located between the vertebrae. Their role is to absorb shock and provide flexibility to the column.

Large repetitive pressures weaken the disc finally breaks. If the cable breaks, the gelatinous material inside the disc swells, contributing to the compression of a nerve root (sciatica). If the material pierces the cartilage of the disc, then it is a ruptured disc.
