The two normal heart sounds (beats) correspond to the closure of heart valves. In the resting phase (diastole
1) of the heart, blood pressure pushes the valves of the veins to let in the blood in the heart. When the heart contracts (systole
2), the input valves are closed and valves open outlets to distribute the blood in the arteries.
The heart murmur is an abnormal sound heard with a stethoscope. The diagnosis will then be clarified by additional tests such as electrocardiogram.
Because of a mistake, it happens that the inlet valve does not close tightly. The blood is able to penetrate through this entry. This leakage of blood in the opposite direction produces a sound heard on auscultation.
Another identifiable auscultation noise occurs when the valves do not open out enough. If blood has difficulty to come out of the heart, it is a heart murmur.
A heart murmur may be heard in a person anemic.
The heart murmur (heart murmur) is evaluated 1 to 6. A high number corresponds to a more severe abnormality.
(1) DIASTOLE: relaxation period of the ventricles.
(2) SYSTOLE: the period of contraction of the heart and arteries.
