Myeloma or Kahler's disease is a tumor of the bone marrow.
Because the tumor attacks cells, whose function is to fight infections, it is usually the cause of serious infections that can cause death. The disease usually occurs after age 40.
Myeloma is assymptômatique for several years in 20% of cases. Symptoms include bone pain, among other things, anemia and renal failure.
In addition to addressing the tumor with chemotherapy or other processes according to its evolution, the treatment is to relieve bone pain and treat any infections.
Assymptômatique myeloma does not require treatment, but its development is closely monitored.
Myeloma represents approximately 2% of cancer deaths.
