The medical name of nosebleed is epistaxis. The most common cause is drought. Heating a house lowers the rate of humidity.
The nosebleeds can also be caused by injury, inflammation or allergy. The use of certain medications or drugs can promote bleeding nose.
The bleeding caused by drought is generally benign and ceases after a few minutes. This is usually a break of very fine blood vessels called capillaries, located in front of the nose.

To stop a little bleeding from the nose, lean your head slightly forward and pinch your nose for ten to fifteen minutes. Ice may be applied to the base of the nose.
To prevent nosebleeds, the temperature should not exceed 21
o C with a humidity of 40
