Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nose. Runny nose, flushed, eyes and throat are irritated. If the rhinitis is not allergic or atrophic rhinitis (acute) is caused by strong odors, smoke, pollutants in the air, etc..
Rhinitis ''allergic'' is caused by a seasonal agent as seasonal pollen (hay fever). Persistent allergic rhinitis is caused by different agents that may be encountered in the year such as mites, dust, micro-organisms (humus), some animals, mold ... Allergic rhinitis causes a lot of sneezing and watery eyes.
Rhinitis ''atrophic'' (rare) is a disease characterized by degeneration of tissues, contributing to the dysfunction of the nasal mucosa. This form of rhinitis causes occasional nosebleeds.
There is no cure for allergic rhinitis. Sometimes it goes away on its own. If the counter products fail to relieve symptoms, it is suggested to consult a doctor who may prescribe a different product. Do not abuse of some aerosol products, they can be harmful to mucous membranes and cause rhinitis.
The best prevention (not always possible, unfortunately) is to avoid the allergen product (smoke, animals) or discarded (mold, dust mites). Be aware that pollen is less present in the air between 10:00 and sunset and it is almost absent during or after a rain.
