The young patient has a fever, had chills. He has a sore throat and often vomiting. After 2 days, comes a rash, red spots. The fever persists. The eruption, first in the chest, extending throughout the trunk in a few days then on the limbs. Only around the mouth, feet and hands were spared. The patient may feel itchy.

Scarlet fever should be treated. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic. The temperature is monitored carefully. A bath at a temperature slightly cooler than the body can help lower body temperature. The patient should drink plenty. Left untreated, the disease may reach the heart valves and kidneys.

The pain and fever disappear after a week as red spots take up to a month before disappearing. Once the fever has disappeared, the patient is most contagious.
