In the summer of 1918, influenza nailed the patient in bed 3 days. It is spreading in Europe. We realized its importance when it touched Spain, hence the name
Spanish Flu.
In the fall of 1918 and January 1919, influenza killed in 3 days. Isolated families on their farms were more likely to avoid contagion.
The Spanish flu caused bronchitis so severe that it caused the death by suffocation. This disaster occurred because the virus was a new subtype, and it was 10 times more deadly then known viruses. Across the world, we counted about 30 million deaths.
